On March 15, Recognition Records returns to Jasna – a label steered for 25 years by the steady hand of Jacek Sienkiewicz, a name that likely needs no introduction. This time, alongside the host, the special guest will be Olof Dreijer – also known as Oni Ayhun and one half of the legendary duo The Knife. He will welcome the coming spring with his exotic, energetic, and joyful set.
Olof began his DJ career in the late ’90s, initially spinning disco, garage, and drum’n’bass before expanding his sets to include hip-hop, R&B, acid house, techno, EBM, and trance. In 2000, alongside his sister Karin Dreijer (later known as Fever Ray), he founded The Knife, which became one of the most influential indie acts worldwide until its dissolution in 2014. Between 2008 and 2010, Olof released music under the alias Oni Ayhun, pushing the boundaries of club music with experimental sounds. Though he only released four EPs under this moniker, they solidified his reputation as a uniquely original producer.
Currently, Olof also works as a producer for other artists, with his sound appearing on Fever Ray’s album Radical Romantics, as well as in works by Planningtorock, Houeida Hedfi, and Zhala. He has also remixed tracks for Röyksopp & Robyn, Nine Inch Nails, and most recently, Björk.
At Jasna, Olof will deliver his signature eclectic mix of styles and genres, ranging from funky techno and melodic house to Baile Funk and Batida, likely sprinkled with surprising acapellas—reminiscent of his recent sets for NTS Radio, Rinse FM (as a guest on Hessle Audio’s show), and the HOR stage at Dekmantel Festival.
Joining him will be the evening’s host, Jacek Sienkiewicz, as well as another veteran of the Warsaw scene, the always impeccable and dynamic Mic Ostap. The second room’s lineup will feature the mysterious vinyl shaman Widmo, the fresh and talented Taan, and Poznań’s own Elvirka.
